Welcome to the International Showcase Music Competition(ISMC) Hamburg 2024, proudly hosted by the New Jersey Sinfonietta (NJS). This exceptional event offers musicians an unparalleled opportunity to expand their artistic horizons and experience diverse stages in a city known for its rich musical heritage.

Our distinguished jury consists of accomplished performers, esteemed professors, and notable figures from the global music community. The winners of this competition will have the privilege of performing at Hamburg’s prestigious “Laeiszhalle,” a renowned venue revered for its contribution to the musical arts.

Participating in this competition offers numerous benefits, including valuable feedback, increased exposure, an enhanced resume, and the chance to network with industry experts.
Additionally, the NJS promotes participants’ videos across its social media channels, helping them gain a followings and additional publicity.

A long and rich history of classical music

The city was home to some of the most important composers of the 18th and 19th centuries, including Georg Philipp Telemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Johannes Brahms. Today, Hamburg is still a major center for classical music, with a number of world-renowned orchestras and opera houses.

One of the famous classical music venues in Hamburg is the Laeiszhalle. The Laeiszhalle is a concert hall that was built in 1848. It is known for its intimate atmosphere and its beautiful acoustics. The Laeiszhalle hosts a variety of classical music concerts, as well as jazz, world music, and other genres.

In addition to its world-renowned concert halls, Hamburg also has a number of other classical music institutions. These include the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hamburg State Opera, and the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre.
